An Unforgettable Day on the Farmland
On June 15th, 50 students were organized to pay a visit to the farmland nearby. The purpose of this activity is to give a hand to the farmers.
Upon their arrival, students were warmly welcomed by the farmers on the farm, who were in trouble of finishing their work. Then, students helped them do basic tasks, such as collecting eggs and feeding pigs, instead of complicated jobs, like milking cows. At the same time, they were advised to learn from an experienced farmer. With eggs collection and pigs feeding done, they felt they made huge progress in doing farm work. At last, the farmers expressed thanks to their companions from university. A girl proudly told us that she cried when she was feeding pigs, but in the end she overcame fear and accordingly mastered a new skill.
After experiencing this meaningful day, students stand with the point that despite the high requirement for students’ scores, it is imperative that they acquire knowledge from practice. Apparently, if we aspire to make full use of knowledge, it is advisable for us to put knowledge into practice and gain experience from practice.
